Simon Says....All That Sparkles

What a great challenge this week over on Simon Says, I think we all love a bit of sparkle!!

RECIPE

Digi-Image - Funky Fairys 'Chloe Collection 1'

Papers - Funky Fairys 'Lil Blue Christmas Cracker'

Sentiment - Funky Fairys 'Christmas Punchums'

Colouring Medium - Copics, Promarkers and Sakura Stardust

Embellishments - Gems form stash

*****************

Sorry things have been a bit hit and miss on my blog lately, my mojo really is struggling, just wish it would hurry up and sort itself out, I really want to craft but I sit at my desk and nothing seems to happen, a few cards have even been scrapped, normally I only do that once in a blue moon if I don't like something.  I think it has all stemmed from when we had the shed break in and every single item of our fishing gear was stolen a few weeks back.  Though it wasn't our home that was broken into, it may as well of been as I still felt so violated, and what with Steve now working away again most nights through the week it is taking some getting used too after he had been home for so long whilst he was waiting for a new contract.  I'm so security conscious now, not that I wasn't before but even more so now and more nervous, but I'm sure that will ease with time, it's silly really I should be thankful it wasn't our home.  Anyeway next week I'm going away for a few days to visit family down in Worthing, hopefully a few days away will be the boost my mojo needs.  I'm really excited too that my youngest brother is also coming to visit us this weekend with his girlfriend, not seen him since April so be lovely to see him again.  My other brother who I'll be seeing next week I haven't seen in nearly 18 months, can't believe it's been so long.  So I think catching up with my brothers will be a real boost.  And the icing on the cake will also be seeing A-ha in concert next week, really can't wait for that, oh and then there is the NEC Papercraft show a week on Sunday too, where Crafty Emma and myself will be meeting up with some other blogger crafters.  All things to look forward to!!

Anyway I thought I'd fill you in on what I have or should that be haven't been up to...lol.  Hopefully full blogging and crafting service will be resumed in the not too distant future. Thank you to everyone who visits and takes the time to comment, I know I have been an extremely bad blogger and not visited your blogs very often lately.  But your visits and comments are very much appreciated.

Enjoy your weekend everyone

Funky Fairys Challenge #40

Thanks to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge which was "Picture It", there was only a few of you who entered but all of your creations were gorgeous.

This weeks Funky Fairy Challenge is....

"Touchy Feely"

We would like to see you use different textures on your projects.

The DT have all been busy creating what we hope is some inspiring projects for you, and we also welcome our Guest Designer Suzy, who is joining us for the next two challenges.  Please be sure to check out all the DT's and GD creations.  Here's mine...

This is a tree, as you can see...lol.  I have painstakingly covered a polystyrene cone with lots and lots of cut out paper triangles.  The baubles are headed pins then added the thin tinsel around it.  The tree trunk is a bunch of wooden kebab sticks which stand in a cotton reel that I've covered with velvety xmas ribbon.  I just saw this polystyrene cone at Hobbycraft last week and had myself a little lightbulb moment...lol.  I think you'll agree there is plenty of texture to this tree, not quite sure about the star on top, may have to rethink this before I put it out at Christmas.

RECIPE

Papers - Funky Fairys 'Shabby Christmas'

Other Materials - Polystyrene Cone, Kebab Sticks, Cotton Reel, Wide Ribbon, Star Decoration, Headed Pins, Thin Tinsel.

I just about used three A4 Sheets of patterned paper to make up this tree.

We do hope you will join us for this weeks challenge, we look forward to seeing your work.

My Pollycraft Birthday Blog Hop Candy Winner

Thank you to everyone who entered the Pollycraft Challenges Birthday Blog Hop, I hope you all had fun.

I've done it the good old fashoined way by picking a name out of the hat, as it was too complicated to use the random generator once I'd gone through who was in the hop and who wasn't.  So good old pen, paper, scissors and hat were used ( well a plastic tub, not a hat exactly...lol)

So the winner of the gorgeous 'Sweet Dreams Collection 1' is.......

Congratulations Kimmi!!  Please can you email me, and I will then pass on your email to Paula and she will then be able to send you the downloadable collection.

Sketch 'n' Stash Challenge #21

It's another lovely sketch as always over on Sketch 'n' Stash and of course a great opportunity to use my new and/or neglected crafty stash.  Can you believe I'm already getting a little fed up with doing xmas cards and it's only October, hopefully my xmas mojo will soon get into gear again, there are so many gorgeous xmas images and stamps I'm so eager to use, and in fact have many coloured up, just can't seem to get any inspiration from the numerous papers I have, and I have lots, maybe it's because I have to many to choose from, but then again I can't seem to find any I want to use.  So I've gone for a card which could be suitable for a birthday, thank you etc.. and it gave me the chance to use one of my favourite stamps that's been a bit neglected in recent months, and use some new papers I hadn't yet used which were sitting there themselves being neglected then there's my new Petaloo flowers too.

Though this Sugar Nellie stamp is quite summery, I went for an autumn theme, well it was only a couple of weeks ago you could actually still sit outside in a short sleeved top even though it was officially autumn.

RECIPE

Stamp - Sugar Nellie 'A Good Book' (neglected stamp)

Papers - Background DP ~ Daisy & Dendelion (new), Orange cardstock from stash, Dark DP ~ Basic Grey, Flowery DP ~ Crafts Too (new)

Colouring Medium - Copics & Promarkers

Flowers - Petaloo (new), Leaves from stash

Other Embellishments - Dew Drop

Thanks for stopping by, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and don't forget the clocks 'Fall' back tomorrow night here in the UK.

Hugs

**EDITED**

A few of you have asked where I got the Petaloo (Flora Doodle) flowers from I got them from Joanna Sheens online shop.

New Blog

My sister-in-law, Mel, has finally taken the plunge and started her own blog.  We both started cardmaking seriously at the same time in 2004 when we were inspired by her handmade wedding invites, so she has been crafting a fair while, as well as cardmaking she is a wonderful scrapbooker.  Anyway, if anyone has a few moments it would be great if you could stop by her blog and leave her a comment or two.  Her cards and LO's are gorgeous and I know she'll appreciate any comments.

My altered project is a Loo Roll Book.  I've used the cardboard tubes from the middle of toilet rolls, which have been flattened and covered with papers.  Each tube acts as a two-sided page, you can then add ATC's or tags to sit in the individual pockets, I've yet to add these as I'm using this book in a loo roll book swap over on Magical Crafts so wanted to keep the tags/ATC's a surprise for the recipient.

A rant and a 4 in 1 challenge card

Not had a good start today, Steve went out this morning to do a bit of fishing then found the shed had been broken in to and ALL the fishing stuff was gone.  Every single rod, reel, poles and our individual bags of tackle as well as the fishing umbrellas, chairs, trolley and nets.  Thousands of pounds worth of stuff.  They didn't touch any of the garden tools which are worth a bit themselves.  We are totally gutted, though our home wasn't broken into, it still feels like it has been, someone has been onto our property and shamelessly taken things that do not belong to them.  It's a hobby we enjoy doing together and a pastime that Steve partakes in a few times a week especially at weekends.  The police are popping by tomorrow to collect a list off of all thats been taken, which is a job and half, and to take a look at the shed, and we've been told to leave everything as it is.  We weren't expecting them to come out but due to the nature of the stuff that was taken it looks like a target theft rather than an opportunistic theft.  We aren't overlooked so someone either knew that stuff was there or they just hit lucky with what they were looking for.  We've been out this morning to the local Angling Shop we use to cost up some of the stuff for the list and then we need to ring the insurance company, at least we had shed cover on the insurance, but thats not the point.  Anyway rant over!!

Made this card yesterday originally just for the Sketch Saturday challenge, but dopey me didn't read all the write-up and missed the pet theme, so I'm still going to enter it anyway as I've followed the sketch, but doing a challenge's search I've also found another 3 challenges that the card fits.

The challenges covered are....

Sketch Saturday - Sketch & Pet Theme (muggins here missed the pet theme part)

A Spoonful of Sugar - Christmas

Creative Card Crew - All That Sparkles

Bizzy Becs Creatalicious - Pink or plum with burgundy and green.  And also add some lace, ribbon or fibre.

RECIPE

Image & Papers - Pollycraft 'Xmas Sweet Dreams' (NOT YET RELEASED)

Flowers - Petaloo

Ribbon - From stash

Border Punch - Martha Stewart

Sentiment - Daisy & Dandelion 'All Wrapped Up' clear stamp gift set.

Colouring Medium - Copics, Promarkers, Sakura Stardust, Chalk, Gold Pigment Ink Pad

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
