Hope everyone is keeping well.  I've been having a play this evening with easel cards which seem to be the latest rage in the cardmaking world at the moment.  The first one I did was for a DT, so you'll have to wait to see that one, but I soon got on to a second one which actually covers 2 challenges.

A Card and My Goodies

Firstly thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts here on the blog and also for the emails I have recieved regarding our loss of Dusty, they are all very comforting.

**********

It's a new challenge this week over on Pollycrafts Monday Challenge and the DT and GD's have all come up with some wonderful projects for this weeks theme which is....

"No Cards Allowed"

I've done a non-card project though of course I'll not be entering into the challenge.

It is a desk calender made from an old plastic CD case.

This also fits in with this weeks SophistiCat' s challenge which is 'WINGS' so I'm entering this into their challenge as the main image has wings as has the little bee.

RECIPE

Images - 'Sharing Sherbert' Clear Stamps Range from Pollycrafts
(main image 'Secrets', Bee 'Xtra Set 1 and Flowers 'Xtra Set 2)

Background Paper - Basic Grey 'Lemonade'

Embellishments - Gems and Ribbon from stash, Calender from Hobbycraft.

Colouring Medium - Copics, Promarkers and Sakura Stardust

Despite yesterdays sad news and worry I did have a wonderful day yesterday at the NEC with Emma and was so pleased to also meet up with Crafty Amy (a fellow Pollycraft GD), Taffy Clare and Vicki.  I think we can all safely say that a good time was had by all socialising as well as of course the retail therapy.  I've no pictures of all of us, my camara is too big to lug around but I know Amy, Clare and Vicki did take some photo's so keep an eye out for them on their blogs.  I have taken a piccy though of all my goodies.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Good day which ended sadly.....

I had a wonderful day today at the NEC with Emma and meeting up with some lovely bloggers but I will tell you more about it tomorrow with piccies of what I bought.  Unfortunately I came back to some very sad news, Dusty our 12 year old cat had to be put to sleep this morning.  We found him outside this morning just before I was about to leave in a very poorly state, unable to move his back end and in a lot of distress.  Steve insisted I still went off to the NEC after I'd called the emergency vet who was going to come out, in my heart I kind of knew I'd not see him again.  I called Steve numerous times through the day to see how things were going and said he'd had x-ray's at the vetinary hospital and nothing was broken so being run over had been ruled out, and he just kept telling me there on that he was having continuing tests.  When I arrived home this evening, Steve told me that Dusty was put to sleep this morning as it was believed he had a pulmonary embolism which had moved on to his spine causing paralysis, it was advised any treatment in a cat of his age only had a slim chance of working and due to Dusty being in extreem distress the kindest thing was to put him to sleep.  Steve didn't want to ruin my day by telling me whilst I was at the NEC, but I'd had a feeling he wasn't being truthful with me.  As many of you may of known Dusty hasn't been in the best form the past few months, and was quite poorly a few months ago, but he seemed to fight through it.  He never regained much weight from all he lost when he was ill, despite a good appetite.  Going to really miss my little Dusty Bin.

RIP Dusty

Back with mojo in tow hopefully

Had a lovely few days away catching up with family, I think it has done me a world of good and I think my mojo is also in agreement, thank goodness.  Whilst away I was also able to think with a clearer head and made the decision to stand down from the Funky Fairys DT, something that I had been contemplating for a little while as I really didn't feel I could fulfil my FF DT duties at present with one thing or another.  I have enjoyed my time with FF and made some wonderful friendships which I hope will continue.

Right, I have made a card this morning!!! The first in nearly 2 weeks.

I'm entering this card into two challenges....

SophistiCat - Ribbons & Buttons

Cupcake Craft - Sketch

RECIPE

Digi Image - Pollycraft 'Suzy Wreath'

Papers - Papermania and K & Co

Colouring Mediums - Copics, Promarkers and chalks

Embellishments - Ribbons and Buttons from stash.

Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments through my down in the dumps time, they have been much appreciated and very supportive.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and hopefully there will be more cards to come later today, I'm on a roll now I think.

Signing out for a few days

I'm off away later today for a few days.  My mojo is still absent and so I haven't anythng scheduled I'm afraid, not even my Funky Fairys DT project this week as I'm taking a week off from there too.  I'm hoping, praying and have everything crossed that a few days away and the NEC trip this weekend will shift my mojo back into gear.  I've lost my mojo before but it's never been this bad...lol.

So even though I'll not be doing a Funky Fairys challenge post tomorrow, there's still no exscuse for you not to go check out the new challenge tomorrow and see all the amazing work from the rest of the DT and of course our GD Suzy.  So please check out the Funky Fairys Challenge Blog tomorrow for the next challenge.

Take care everyone!!

Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge #1

Well the day is finally here for the new Magical Crafts Challenges launch.

Please come over and join us for our first challenge with some gorgeous prizes and a challenge with a few twists and turns.  The DT, Angel and myself are oh so excited and hope you will join us.

Our very first challenge for you is....

A Christmas Ornament/Decoration and/or a Matching Card
The twist is you must include the colours RED, GOLD & GREEN!!

We would like to see Christmas ornaments/decorations and cards, you can choose to make one or the other or you could make both.  If you do both you'll will get two entries into the draw for the prizes.  The colours used must include Red, Gold & Green, you can include other colours as long as the the accent colours are red, gold and green.

You'll have to check out the challenge blog to see all the wonderful DT projects, which we hope will inspire you and here's mine...

For my Christmas ornament/decoration I have made this fabby matchbox advent calender box using the Tracie Hudson tutorial over on Bubbly Funk.  I painted all the matchboxs with acrylic paint.  The card was made using the same papers and metallic card  as on the advent calender box.

Thanks for stopping by and please join us for our first challenge.
