Pollycraft's Friday Freebie & Triple Challenge Card

Meet Feathers the Dragon and he can be yours as he is this weeks Friday freebie over on Tales from Pollycraft.

I'm also entering this card into THREE challenges:

Coloured Feathers with copics. DP is Basic Grey 'Offbeat'. Filed, curled and inked or chalked the edges of the dp and image for the distressing. Kept it simple with only using one dp and just a couple of card candies as embellishment. And there's plenty of shades of yellow.

Thanks for looking!!

Candy Winners!!

Happy Blogoversary to me!!!!

Thanks to everyone who entered my candy and especially to those of you who also showed piccies of your craft areas on your blogs, you all earned an extra entry into the candy. So as a special thank you I am doing an extra draw just between those who did show their craft spaces.

I spent a good few hours yesterday afternoon going through all the entries making sure those who earned a second entry got their second entry and picked out the few who thought they'd try their luck by entering twice anyway. I kept adding the names right up until close of candy. I put all the names on a spread sheet so I knew which number was for who and there were 129 entries all in all.
So using random.org I can announce the winner of my blogoversary candy is......

Entry 101 is....

On top of this I've made some wonderful friends over the past year and I have been lucky to meet a few too - Lorraine, Sue, Marcea, Nicola, Bev, Katy and of course not forgetting a very special buddy (who's also now my boss) Emma. Simon Says - Let's Get Distressing

Blimey it's been a while since I've posted two cards in one day, if you didn't catch the first it's in the post below this one.

Simon Says they want to see distressing projects this week. I'm not a distressing fan except for a bit of inking on the edges, it's not that I don't like seeing everyone else's distressed projects as they are all gorgeous, I just think mine always look a bloomin mess. But hey-ho whats a challenge if it can't be challenging once in awhile, plus I don't want Lorraine chasing me up for not trying..lol. So here it goes, here's my mess.......

The image is from Papirloftet, I inked the edges, that was the easy part. Then I got tearing, fraying and curling with scraps of Funky Fairy papers from all different sets, I've chalked some of the edges. Lace was a bit of scrap in my stash. Flower is also from Pairloftet and added a pin with beads to it. Stamped a couple of flowery images then added two card candies to the top corners. And there it is!! To be honest this is the best mess I've ever done and I actually quite like it for a change. I need much more practice I think, but now I've done one that I'm not ashamed to show, it may just spur me on to keep at the distressing practice. I think it's because I'm a virgo, I don't like mess and things have to be just right, well perfect really, hate wobbly edges etc...lol.

Have you entered my candy yet?? Well there's only a few hours left to enter, my blog will be one year old tomorrow!! You'll find the candy post at the top of my blog.

Enjoy your evening!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar #62 and Pollycraft Sneak Peek

It's a fabulous sketch to follow this week over on A Spoon Full of Sugar.

This is one of the gorgeous soon to be released Twiddly Wings Set 2 images from Pollycraft. There are 9 new images being released for purchase on the 1st August, but you could be a lucky winner of the whole set!! Nip over to Tales from Pollycraft where Paula has a candy giveaway of this new set for FOUR lucky winners, but hurry you only have until midnight 31st July to enter.

Coloured image with promarkers and copics, then chalked around the edges and into the background with green then lilac ink right on the edges. Papers are all Funky Fairys 'Funky Garden'. Made up the flowers using the papers and adding flower gems from stash to the centres. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and inked the edges in lilac.

The day started off quite bright and pleasant so we went off shopping early so Steve could go fishing when we got back and I could do some cardmaking. Well that pleasant weather didn't last long, we have had some really stormy downpours with hail the size of marbles and awfully loud thunder on and off all day. Steve's been in and out between the storms to try and get some fishing in whilst waiting for the cricket to start which has also been delayed due to the weather. But at least the weather didn't effect my cardmaking, except for Mollie wanting to get on my lap for cuddles everytime it thundered, she really hates it bless her. I've another card done for another challenge which I'll pop on in a little while.

Hope you've all been having a good day. TFL.

Joanne xx

Funky Fairys Challenges #27

Thanks to everyone who joined in with last weeks 'GIRLY' Challenge, wow there was some wonderful creations and always a pleasure visiting your blogs.

This week over on Funky Fairys Challenges we have another theme for you...

"THINKING OF YOU"

The DT have all been really busy with their creations, so there's lots of inspiration to be found, so make sure you take a look. And here's mine....

I've used Funky Fairys 'Distressing Vines'. I punched holes through the paper and weaved the ribbon through then added a bow to the corner. The sentiment was a peel-off I then chalked and inked the area, then removed the peel-off. Cut out the sentiment using labels 2 nesties in the bug and mounted onto some more of the DP. Added a touch of faux stitching around the edges of the papers. Punched flowers from the papers and layered together with foam pads to add a bit height.

I do hope you'll join us this week for the challenge the DT are ready and eager to visit your blogs to check out your creations.

Need some Funky Fairys papers??

Inspirational Blog - Freebie Downloads
Funky Fairys Papercrafts Shop - Ton's of wonderful sets to purchase, and they wont break the bank either!!!

Enjoy your Wednesday!!!

Creative Card Crew #21 and some exciting news

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" this week over on Creative Card Crew.
You can interpret this theme how you want.

Image is Twiddly Wings - Swing from Pollycraft coloured her with copics and promarkers and chalked the background in blue then inked edges. Cut image out with oval nesties in the bug and mounted onto a scalloped oval nestie cut of dp from K&Co, inked scalloped edges in lilac. Purple card from stash, embossed in the bug using Stylized Flowers floder, then gently dabbed a light green ink pad over the embossing to highlight it a little then inked edges in blue.. Background dp is also K&Co. Ribbon and flowers from stash and butterfly sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, which was light pink but I chalked with a little purple and inked edges in blue. Finished with some clear gems in some of the corners.

EXCITING NEWS!!!
I've been sitting on this news for just over a week, until things were official but I can now reveal that I have been invited to join Paula and the team over on Pollycraft as a GD until Christmas. I'm totally thrilled to have been asked as I so love Pollycraft products and religiously take part in the challenges only missing one challenge, because I was on holiday, since I started challenges. I'm joining 6 other GD's, so congratulations to them!! Looking forward to working with everyone.

Secret Crafter, Sketch Saturday & One Stop Craft Challenges

Well I never, another 3 in 1 card, and there I was thinking that last weeks was just a fluke...lol.
I've followed the fab sketch over on Sketch Saturday, the recipe over on Secret Crafter which is 3 buttons, 2 design papers and 1 ribbon and then finally One Stop Craft with the theme of 'Christmas in July'.

Coloured the Magnolia images with copics and sakura metallic gold and silver. I've used glamour dust on santa's furry bits of suit, which Im afraid doesn't show on the piccy. Cut out images and mounted on white shimmer card embossed in the bug with swiss dots, then inked the edges with red. Papers are Funky Fairys 'Lets Get Traditional'. Gold ribbon and flowers from stash. There are little green flower buttons in the centre of each flower. Sentiment tag is a Daisy & Dandelion stamp which came free with Creativity magazine. Added an eyelet and some red curling ribbon. Another xmas card done and ready to add to the stash. Ooops only just realised I've used two ribbons if you include the bit on the tag, sorry!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks to those of you that left me some really useful advice regarding Explorer 8, it's now off my lappy and I'm back to no. 7, I've also downloaded Firefox, and I must say blogger seems to be working much better with that.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!!

Wedding Bookatrix in a Frame

After seeing quite a few of my 'Bookatrix' cards my nan asked if I could make her one for my cousins wedding in August, and could I also put it in a frame. I've been working on this on and off through the week and today I was determined to get it finished and woo-hoo it's now finished!!

Please excuse the quality of the photo, but because of the glass in the frame I had to take the picture in the hallway, which is darker, to try and reduce any reflection. I've not over decorated the bookatrix card itself as I felt with a decorated frame it would be a bit much. The frame is from The Range and is a deep box frame which is usually ideal for an emebellished scrap page. I've painted the frame using H2O's in Burnt Umber, which gave it a slight gold shimmer colour. Used maroon and cream cord around the frame and all flowers are from a local haberdashery store. I'm really not happy with the picture, it doesn't show it's true colours at all, but at least you have the idea. The colour theme was to be maroon and cream to match their tudor themed wedding. Hope my nan likes it, as well as my cousin and his new bride.

Been a pretty good day here today, warm and sunny with a bit of fair weather cloud, not that I've been out in it really to appreciate it. Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend.

Simon Says Do Dawny P's Sketch

It's a wonderful sketch by the sketch queen herself Dawny P this week over on Simon Says.

Now I must warn you that sunglasses maybe required to view my card, it's bright and maybe a touch too busy, I'm undecided on that one!! Are you ready .............

I coloured all the Magnolia images with copics and promarkers, and the sky was chalked in blue. I've built up the layers with foam pads so it didn't look too flat. The sentiment is from the Daisy & Dandelion Masculine range. Papers are K & Co and ribbon is from stash.

I felt like doing a bright card as it's another blustery, showery and stormy day again today. We took a drive over to Bingley this morning and went for a walk along the canal near the Five Rise Locks, the sun was short lived and the heavens opened...lol. Once back at the car we drove on to Eldwick, where Steve's mum grew up, still raining so drove on to Ilkley and pulled up in a parking area with a wonderful view and a fab lightening show...lol, whilst we chomped away on our picnic in the car. Decided to make our way home the scenic route via Wetherby and surprise, surprise the rain and storms cleared and the sun came out. By the time we got home mind it was raining again. Where's the summer gone?? They say August is going to be a scorcher, we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Hopefully my buddy Lorraine will bring the warm weather with her from Malta when she visits the UK in August.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Funky Fairys Customer Gallery

With the gorgeous new look Funky Fairy Shop there is a customer gallery that needs filling up.
So we are searching for customer creations to feature in the gallery. If you have made some lovely creations from any products bought in the shop and would love to share them then please email them to

3 in 1 Challenge Card

I try not to combine challenges too much as I know it's a bit naughty and some challenges don't like it, but I really don't have the time anymore to enter my favourite challenges each week individually. I do the challenges for my own personal enjoyment and I feel it's better to support the challenge blogs by entering even if it is combined rather than not entering at all. Another reason I don't combine very often is I'm not very good at it...lol. I see a challenge theme and my mind gets buzzing with ideas for that challenge only. But if I want to do more challenges I must try and get better at combining. Combining this card luckily didn't take too much effort..lol
I have followed the fabulous sketch over on Sketch & Stash, I really feel bad about neglecting this challenge blog and especially after being one of their guest designers, I'm really sorry girls, I hope you'll forgive me. My card also fits this weeks challenges over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is 'Spots & Stripes' and Creative Card Crew which is 'Polka Dots'.

The image is Pollycrafts Twiddly Wings - Hearts, I won the whole set earlier this week on the Pollycraft Challenge Blog, so thats my new item. I've coloured her using copics, promarkers and a little touch of sakura stardust applied with a waterbrush to a her wings, then chalked the background. Mounted image onto yellow tones glitter card. The papers are Papermainia, the sequin flowers are from my stash and I've applied Anita's tiny gems to the flower centres.
I've been doing well with catching up on my blog hopping this week but unfortunately there are still some blogs I can't load without everything freezing up. Some have righted themselves over the past week so hopefully the others will soon be sorted too. So again, if I've not been to visit you for ages then your blog is one of those blogs I'm having problems with, so I'm really sorry and I hope I can catch up with you soon.
Thanks for visiting my blog and all comments are much appreciated if you have the time to leave one xx

The DT really enjoyed this week's theme and have made some wonderful creations to help inspire you, so be sure to check them out on the challenge blog, where you will find links to visit their individual blogs for more info on their creations and FF products used.

Here's my creation for you...

I've made this wonderful giftbag from the gorgeous Funky Fairys Pinkie Pops kit. I've added the Goth Fairy image from Pink Gem Designs colouring her with copics and sakura stardust applied directly to the image in some places and with a waterbrush on others, it has a real sparkle to it which unfortunately doesn't show in the pic, sorry. Ribbon is from stash, added some tiny pearl flower rings with a pearl brad through them to the handle bases. Finished with a plastic black flower centre and another pearl flower ring with a pink gem in the middle to the bottom corner of the sentiment.

We do hope you'll join us for our 'Girly' challenge this week, and don't forget to tell your friend's too!! Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Pollycraft Challenge #20

First a little toot toot, I was thrilled to have learned yesterday that I'd won the Pollycraft challenge 19, woo-hoo!! I won a selection of crafting goodies, the full set of the Twiddly Wings downloads and a wonderful signed 8 x 8 print of one of the Cherry Kisses images by Paula. And then last Friday I also won the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge and have $25 to spend at Simon Says Stamps, double woo-hoo, how lucky am I!!!
Anyway on to my card......
It's a fab theme and sketch over on Pollycraft this week

The theme is 'Food & Drink'

You no longer have to use a Pollycraft item on your creations to enter the challenges. The DT have created some wonderful cards, so be sure to check them out.

I've not used a Pollycraft image this time but I have used Pollycraft papers, flowers and blank sentiment banner from the 'Doodle Dreams Chocolate and Blue' collection. The cupcake was a free template with one of the magazines some time ago. Added one prima flower amongst the paper ones and added a brad to each of the centres. The sentiment has been stamped.

The DP is Papermania 'Olivine Skies', and I have coloured in a few of the flowers on the DP with yellow and blue. The little flowers were white and on a string, but I've coloured and applied them individually. The leaves are from my stash.

Simon Says...Summer Fruits

What a lovely theme it is over on Simon Says this week....Summer Fruits. You can use fruits or fruit colours on your creation.

I've used this House Mouse image which I recieved in a recent swap amongst some of my fellow Stamptacular DT members, I think he's perfect for a fruity challenge. Coloured with watercolour pencils and copics. I thought it would be something a bit different to cut the image out as a sort of half circle so the shape looks a bit like a fruit segment. All papers are Funky Fairys - Feelin Fruity and Simply Brushed. The fruity looking flowers are Papermania, ric-rak was from a Do-Crafts goody bag from a few months back and the green brads are from my stash. Scalloped card base is from Craftwork Cards and I've inked the edge of each scallop in green or pink.

*************************

I'm meant to be adding an extra item today to my blog candy, but after taking pictures of some cards the batteries went in the camara before I could get a piccy of the extra goody, so please accept my apologies I will get it on for you probably later tomorrow when I get back from work.

Funky Fairys Challenge #25

It's Wednesday and that means it's Funky Fairys Challenge Day!!!

Thanks to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge are you the winner? Go check out the FF challenge blog to find out.

This week we have a fabby sketch by Jilly....

You can change the sizes of the squares, turn the sketch to landscape and add any embellishments as long as your finished project shows resemblence to the above sketch!!

Here's my take on the sketch...

This has to be the tallest card I've ever made, it's A4 folded lengthways!! Coloured Tilda with copics and a touch of sakura stardust applied with a waterbrush to her wings. The papers, cupcake images and sentiment are all from the gorgeous Funky Fairys Cupcake Crazy kit, I bet you can tell I love this as I've used it so much lately, there's just so much to choose from in the kit and I want to use it all!!! lol. I coloured the cupcakes with copics and used blue stickles on the hundreds and thousands. Instead of adding corners I've used card candy. I'm yet to tackle making an envelope for this leggy creation, but I know I have some A3 paper so will give it a bash.

Don't forget to check out all the other DT creations, all amazing takes on the sketch to help inspire you.

I know there are so many challenges out in blogland right now but if you've never taken part in the Funky Fairys Challenge why not pop over and give it a go, we would love to see you. You could win a FF download if you've used at least one Funky Fairy product on your creation. Don't panic if you don't have any FF products, nip over to the Inspiration Blog scroll down the right hand side and there you will find a whole lot of freebies to download, don't worry if your not sure about downloading there is a really great video tutorial on downloading files on the right hand side before the downloads. Don't forget to check out the Funky Fairys Shop too, not only will you see a big picture of me on the homepage (I'm shop DT of the month!!), but you can check out all the gorgeous kits available for download, and if you fancied treating yourself you wouldn't need to rob a bank.

Hope you'll join us, have a great Wednesday!!!

Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge #6

It's a colour challenge this week over on Stampin' for the Weekend...

"Strawberries Dipped in Chocolate"
Now doesn't that sound yummy as the title might suggest the colour combo is Red and Brown. I'm not very confident with using red, I don't even wear red as I don't think it suits me at all, and I think this has rubbed off on my crafting. But looking at the fabulous DT creations red really works well with browns and they inspired me to come out of my colour comfort zone.

I absolutely love this Sarah Kay image and always kept meaning to buy it, but my SIL came for a crafting session last week and she'd just bought this stamp and a couple of others, so I stamped some out whilst she was here, which should keep me going for now. Coloured her with copics, promarkers and blenders. I've lightly chalked the background then cut the image out with Labels 2 nesties in the bug and chalked the edges in a darker brown and added some faux stitching using a brown Whisper marker. Papers are all Funky Fairys from three different sets - Simply Brushed, Cherish Collection and In With The Old, I've done some faux stitching on the brown papers. The lace was white but I've changed the colour using brown chalk, it seems to have worked well. The little flower on the knot is from my craft stash. The large flowers are a mix of Papermania and Prima's secured together with brads. Finished with three tiny Anita's red gems in the top spare corner.

Blogger still seems to be playing up as there are still a few blogs I like to visit that I just can't load, so if I've not been to visit you over the past couple of weeks I am really sorry, I will keep trying and I'm sure eventually it will sort itself out. Enjoy your day!!

The Next Level Challenge #7

This weeks challenge over on The Next Level is a wonderful sketch with a twist. The twist being the image must be decoupaged/3D.

I've used Shabby Chic Tilda and coloured her with copics and blender. I've decoupaged her in three layers. Papers are Funky Fairys from the Simply Brushed collection. Ribbon from stash and sentiemnt is from craftwork cards, which I've chalked in pink and orange. Flowers from stash, centre flowers punched from papers, and buttons are from my stash. Finished with tiny pink Anita's gems in the corners. Below is the sketch to follow.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #15

Can you believe that we are already onto challenge 15 over on Stamptacular Sunday, it only feels like a few weeks ago since the launch, boy doesn't time fly. Thanks to everyone who entered last weeks 'Christmas in July' challenge, looks like many of you enjoyed a touch of Christmas in the summer. This week we have a wonderful sketch for you to follow.
This weeks challenge is being sponsered by Papirloftet. To be in with a chance of winning you must use at least one stamped item on your creation and that creation must be entered exclusively to the Stamptacular challenge, basically no combining with other challenges.
The DT were very lucky to have been sent a wonderful package each from Papirloftet, how nice was that!! So most of us have used some of these items on our creations for you this week. Be sure to check all the DT's creations, utterly gorgeous.
Here's my card.

The gorgeous image, flowers, stamp, lace and pink card mount behind image and sentiment were all from my lovely Papirloftet package. The DP's are both K & Co. Then I've added two flat backed pearls in two of the corners and two pearl brads on the sentiment.

We do hope you'll be able to join us for this weeks sketch challenge, we love visiting your blogs to see your creations.

Pollycraft Challenge #19

There's a fantastic bundle of goodies to be won over on the latest challenge on Pollycraft. And there's some new rules too. You no longer have to use a Pollycraft product to enter as long as you stick to the set theme for each challenge. Well I love my Pollycraft stuff so I'm still sticking to using something of Paula's on my cards and creations for now.
The current theme is "Get To The Point" the team want to see arrows on our creations. Make sure you check out all the fabby creations from the DT, tons of inspiration.

I've used Pollycrafts 'Stylish Margo' digi-stamp, coloured her with copics and promarkers then chalked and inked the edges. Papers are from Papercrafts 4 You - Mary Hughes Collection 5. I stamped the arrows using a stamp from Papermania's Sweet Nothings stamp set then handwrote the text in them. Finished with some layered Papermania flowers and some gems.

It's a gorgeous start to the day here, though I don't think it's meant to last much beyond mid afternoon before the heavy rain is due to hit. But it's nice whilst it lasts. Enjoy your Saturday!!

Anyone for Golf...

I do all my MIL's birthday cards that she needs, except my own of course..lol. I did the first 6 months worth at the beginning of the year, so I need to start working on the next batch for August onwards, the only problem is that from August to November it's mostly male cards she needs 12 in total, arrghh!! So I've made a start on one today and I'm gonna try and create one male card a day until they are done....wish me luck lol!!

Image from Clare Curd Signature Range, coloured with copics and blender. Papers are K & Co and all edges of the papers and the image have been inked. Sentiment was done on the PC then added three buttons to one of the bottom corners of the card to finish.

One down ELEVEN to go......!!!

Sketch Saturday ~ Sketch 58

There's a wonderful sketch to follow this week over on Sketch Saturday by Gill.

The image is a digi-stamp 'Happy Jumping Butterfly Fairy' by Becca Kay. Coloured her with copics and blender. Papers are K & Co and all edges have been inked in lilac. Ribbon from scraps stash, flowers are Papermania with flower sequins and a brad in the centres. Added a flower of gems on the ribbon and a single gem to one corner of the image. The sentiment is from the Daisy & Dandelion masculine collection, but I think it works ok on a girly card..lol. Below is this weeks sketch to follow.

My new craftroom

I thought moving my craftroom was going to take at least until the end of the week, but I'm pleased to say, it was ready to go this afternoon, so I took some pics straight away whilst it was all organised and tidy.

Nice, tidy and organised cupboards (plenty of room left for some more crafty stash...lol)

And I now have a room with a view!!

I doubt it'll stay looking like this for long, but I should be able to keep it much tidier than before having so much more space now and lots of storage.

It's my 1st Blogoversary at the end of the month so to celebrate my new craftroom, 20,000+ hits to my blog and a year of blogging I'll be having some blog candy on offer later this week, so keep a look out!!

Apologies and what I'm up to...

Firstly I want to apologise for my lack of blog hopping the past week. The only real exscuse I have is the gorgeous weather and time just flying by and the days are gone before you know it. I have had a good blog hop this evening but haven't managed to get around to everyone as blogger has decided to play up and not load pages fully or want let me comment. So if I've not visited you yet, I will try again over the next day or so.

Now on to what I'm up to at the moment. My craft room is on the move, I'm upgrading to a larger room, as I've really outgrown my little craft cave. We've spent the past few days moving stuff out of my new craft room and which had in it the main PC, a sofa bed and JUNK!! So we've been sorting the junk and it looks like a carboot is in order very soon. And the local dump will get a visit or two this week too. Tomorrow Steve we'll be building my converted wardrobe and then I can start transferring my stuff. So there is unlikely to be any crafting from me for the next few days at least. But I have my DT stuff done for this week so they will be posted as normal. When it's all finished I'll show some pics.

Enjoy your week everyone!! xx

"CHRISTMAS IN JULY"

We want to see your creations with a Christmas theme be it a card, ATC, altered item etc.. All we ask is that there must be at least ONE stamped item on your project to be in with a chance of winningg this weeks prize which is being sponsered by the talented Sally-Ann and her DigiStamp Boutique.

Oval cut from nesties in the bug. DP's are all Funky Fairys as is the sentiment round, from the 'Lets Get Traditional' kit, distressed the edges of the papers and sentiment using a nail file. Scalloped base card is from Craftwork Cards. Added gold ribbon mesh from stash to one corner and card candy to all corners.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #58

I've another summery card to show you, which fits with this weeks theme of 'Summer' over on A Spoon Full of Sugar.

This fab image I saw on a card recently on a blog hop, but for the life of me I can't remember where, so I'm very sorry about that. But I do have the link for this fab free digi-image by Hambo, click here. Coloured with copics, blender and watercolour pencils with a waterbrush then inked edges in blue. Mounted image onto 3 scalloped circles cut with nesties from yellow glitter card and inked edges in green. The spotty DP is a scrap Funky Fairys piece. Ribbon is from stash and flowers and brad are all from The Range. The whole card shape was done by drawing a semi-circle with a compass and cutting by hand. I had a few ideas for sentiments but couldn't decide which so I've left it sentiment free for now so I can use the most appropiate one when using the card.
We went off to Mablethorpe again yesterday for the day, a proper beach day with swimming in the sea, a picnic and of course an ice-cream. It was another gorgeous day and there was a nice sea breeze which took the edge off the intense heat. Today is really muggy, we had quite a downpour this morning with a small thunderstorm, but it was enough to give us a powercut for a good hour. The garden needed the rain thats for sure. We still need a good storm to clear the air though, I hate it when it's muggy. I hope everyones managing to keep cool!!
Thanks for visiting and any comments are much appreciated.

The DT have been working hard this week to create some inspiring projects for you, so be sure to check them out on the challenge blog and you can visit their blogs by clicking on their names.

Here is my DT project for the 'Beach Theme'.

I've used FF papers from 'It's So Distressing Vol.5 for the castle and 'Gorjuss Ginghams' for the flag. I cut the castle shape by hand approx 6" width at the bottom, finishing as approx 5 1/2" width across the top, the height is the approx 7 1/2". Mounted the castle shape onto a 5 x 5 base card. I've used some shells which I've had in my craft stash for years, and stuck them along the bottom, then used some card candy as pebbles running along the top. I made the flag using a cocktail stick then hand cut the flag attaching to the cocktail stick. With some scissors I carefully shaped the flag into a wave to give some defintition. The poem I found on an internet search and is by John McLeod, cut using Labels 2 nesties in the bug and also mounted onto some embossed pearlised cream card, lightly chalked in blue. And finally before mounting the poem onto the card I punched some holes in two corners and tied some beige funky wool through them. Below is a closer picture of the poem.

I do hope you'll join us for this weeks challenge the DT love visiting your blogs and seeing all your creations!!!

Well what wonderful weather we are having here in the UK this week, it looks like it's going to be another scorcher today, but I must do some crafting today in my little craft cave after a being a little slack the past few days what with going out with Emma on Monday then yesterday Steve and myself headed to the coast ending up at Cleethorpes and then Mablethorpe with Mollie for a good old run on the beach and a paddle. The only thing I miss from living down in Sussex is the sea, living only 5 mins from the sea was lovely, though Worthing beach doesn't have the lovely sand that we see on the beaches on some of the north east coast, but I do love the sea air. We enjoyed yesterday so much we're hoping to do it again tomorrow. Enjoy your day everyone!!
