2 in 1 Challenge Card

My second ever combined challenge card, though it wasn't intentional to start with. I was originally making it for the One Stop Craft Challenge # 18 which is 'Simply Stunning' (no papers) and then realised when I'd finished the card it also fitted challenge #40 over on A Spoon Full of Sugar which is 'Shape Shifters'.

Image is SN ' Pen Pal' and coloured with copics and a little sakura stardust on her jewellery and belt buckle. Chalked the background then layered onto two different shades of blue card from my scraps stash. The base card is, as you can see, envelope shaped. Punched the flowers using the blue scraps of card already used and added little clear and blue gems to the centres. Added a ribbon with three different shades of blue ribbon tied in a knot.

Well it's a glorious day here today, so Steve and I are going to go for a drive with Mollie to the Lincolnshire coast this time and get a bite of lunch whilst we are out.

Christmas Greetings from Hessle

This is an order of eight christmas cards which I have done every year for the past 4 years for a lady who lives in Hessle. Hessle is just west of Hull and it's most famous landmark is the Hessle Foreshore and Humber Bridge. Last year I managed to go very early in the morning in the snow to get some pictures of the foreshore and bridge, before the snow melted. So I've been looking forward to using these pictures for this year's cards, which actually have snow on. I used the envelope design for five of the cards and landscape A5 for the other three cards.

Thinking of a friend

I've a crafting friend who is going through a difficult time at the moment with her partner being in hospital, so I wanted to send a card wishing him a speedy recovery and and to let them know I'm thinking of them both. I've tried to keep it fairly simple with the sentiment being "You've been on my mind" and put some personal handwritten words inside the card. The flower is from another Penny Wessenauer decoupage sheet, I just love her sheets.

Cuttlebug Christmas

I know I should be doing birthday cards today, but I really fancied my first play with two of the new CB christmas folders, lace tree and holly. I've had them since they were first released earlier in the summer. I've seen a few peoples cards already using these folders so I've been getting plenty of inspiration.


This is the lace tree, it is on red vellum, I then went round the outlines with a sakura white metallic pen and added a mix of red and silver glitter to the little balls, finished off with a silver ribbon bow. I attached the vellum to silver card using snowflake eyelets and then attahced to the envelope shaped card, added a peel-off sentiment and some red ribbon to the front with a bow.


The Holly is on green vellum, again I outlined the embossing this time with a gold metallic sakura pen and applied red glitter to the berries. Attached the vellum to gold mirror card with thin DST to the edges then added green holly outline peel-offs to the edges. Matched this with a gold holly motif ribbon and peel-off sentiment.

Back to making cards

Now I feel more comfortable, back to making cards again, well a card. This is an envelope card I've made for my step-dad's birthday this week. The beer and playing cards are decoupaged.


I'm going to be away for a few days, so I'll probably not be around on my blog, but I have plenty of cards to do when I get back and plenty of christmas cards to get started on, so it shouldn't be long before I'm updating the blog again :-)
