Back with mojo in tow hopefully

Had a lovely few days away catching up with family, I think it has done me a world of good and I think my mojo is also in agreement, thank goodness.  Whilst away I was also able to think with a clearer head and made the decision to stand down from the Funky Fairys DT, something that I had been contemplating for a little while as I really didn't feel I could fulfil my FF DT duties at present with one thing or another.  I have enjoyed my time with FF and made some wonderful friendships which I hope will continue.

Right, I have made a card this morning!!! The first in nearly 2 weeks.

I'm entering this card into two challenges....

SophistiCat - Ribbons & Buttons

Cupcake Craft - Sketch

RECIPE

Digi Image - Pollycraft 'Suzy Wreath'

Papers - Papermania and K & Co

Colouring Mediums - Copics, Promarkers and chalks

Embellishments - Ribbons and Buttons from stash.

**********

Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments through my down in the dumps time, they have been much appreciated and very supportive.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and hopefully there will be more cards to come later today, I'm on a roll now I think.

Hugs

Simon Says....All That Sparkles

What a great challenge this week over on Simon Says, I think we all love a bit of sparkle!!

Just a shame I can't get the sparkle to show in the picture.  You can clearly see the gems but also all the hand dotting around the image and papers were done using sakura stardust pens.

RECIPE

Digi-Image - Funky Fairys 'Chloe Collection 1'

Papers - Funky Fairys 'Lil Blue Christmas Cracker'

Sentiment - Funky Fairys 'Christmas Punchums'

Colouring Medium - Copics, Promarkers and Sakura Stardust

Embellishments - Gems form stash

*****************

Sorry things have been a bit hit and miss on my blog lately, my mojo really is struggling, just wish it would hurry up and sort itself out, I really want to craft but I sit at my desk and nothing seems to happen, a few cards have even been scrapped, normally I only do that once in a blue moon if I don't like something.  I think it has all stemmed from when we had the shed break in and every single item of our fishing gear was stolen a few weeks back.  Though it wasn't our home that was broken into, it may as well of been as I still felt so violated, and what with Steve now working away again most nights through the week it is taking some getting used too after he had been home for so long whilst he was waiting for a new contract.  I'm so security conscious now, not that I wasn't before but even more so now and more nervous, but I'm sure that will ease with time, it's silly really I should be thankful it wasn't our home.  Anyeway next week I'm going away for a few days to visit family down in Worthing, hopefully a few days away will be the boost my mojo needs.  I'm really excited too that my youngest brother is also coming to visit us this weekend with his girlfriend, not seen him since April so be lovely to see him again.  My other brother who I'll be seeing next week I haven't seen in nearly 18 months, can't believe it's been so long.  So I think catching up with my brothers will be a real boost.  And the icing on the cake will also be seeing A-ha in concert next week, really can't wait for that, oh and then there is the NEC Papercraft show a week on Sunday too, where Crafty Emma and myself will be meeting up with some other blogger crafters.  All things to look forward to!!

Anyway I thought I'd fill you in on what I have or should that be haven't been up to...lol.  Hopefully full blogging and crafting service will be resumed in the not too distant future. Thank you to everyone who visits and takes the time to comment, I know I have been an extremely bad blogger and not visited your blogs very often lately.  But your visits and comments are very much appreciated.

Enjoy your weekend everyone

Funky Fairys Challenge #40

Thanks to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge which was "Picture It", there was only a few of you who entered but all of your creations were gorgeous.

This weeks Funky Fairy Challenge is....

"Touchy Feely"

We would like to see you use different textures on your projects.

The DT have all been busy creating what we hope is some inspiring projects for you, and we also welcome our Guest Designer Suzy, who is joining us for the next two challenges.  Please be sure to check out all the DT's and GD creations.  Here's mine...

This is a tree, as you can see...lol.  I have painstakingly covered a polystyrene cone with lots and lots of cut out paper triangles.  The baubles are headed pins then added the thin tinsel around it.  The tree trunk is a bunch of wooden kebab sticks which stand in a cotton reel that I've covered with velvety xmas ribbon.  I just saw this polystyrene cone at Hobbycraft last week and had myself a little lightbulb moment...lol.  I think you'll agree there is plenty of texture to this tree, not quite sure about the star on top, may have to rethink this before I put it out at Christmas.

RECIPE

Papers - Funky Fairys 'Shabby Christmas'

Other Materials - Polystyrene Cone, Kebab Sticks, Cotton Reel, Wide Ribbon, Star Decoration, Headed Pins, Thin Tinsel.

I just about used three A4 Sheets of patterned paper to make up this tree.

We do hope you will join us for this weeks challenge, we look forward to seeing your work.

My altered project is a Loo Roll Book.  I've used the cardboard tubes from the middle of toilet rolls, which have been flattened and covered with papers.  Each tube acts as a two-sided page, you can then add ATC's or tags to sit in the individual pockets, I've yet to add these as I'm using this book in a loo roll book swap over on Magical Crafts so wanted to keep the tags/ATC's a surprise for the recipient.

Hello Everyone!!
Hope you have all had a lovely Saturday, the weather has been glorious here again, not over warm but very pleasant and not a cloud in the sky.
There's another wonderful sketch to follow this week over on Get Sketchy.  The sketch to follow was landscape but I've flipped it to portrait for my card.

The image is from the wonderful Halloween set available over on Doodle Palace, you also get his fab halloween poem and the halloween sentiment in the set.  Coloured image with copics and watercolour pencils. The orange dp is from an upcoming new set from Funky Fairys 'Fancy Flourishes'.  Black card is from my crafting stash.  I printed the sentiment onto some of the dp.  Added orange gems to the corners of the black panels.  Below is a close up of the fun halloween poem.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

It's that time of week again for a new Stamptacular Sunday Challenge.  Thank you to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge "Scallop Mania" all such wonderful creations using scallops.
This week we wanted to add a little humour for our challenge theme....
"OFF THE WALL....SLAP YOUR KNEE FUNNY"
We would like to see your cards showing a little humour be it the stamped image and/or the sentiment or verse.  The DT can't wait to have a giggle seeing your creations.  But first you can have a giggle yourself by taking a look at all the DT cards and creations.  Here's mine..
Now this was a bit of a toughy for me, I'm usually the last to get a joke, sometimes I just plain well can't understand them, and as for remembering a joke well lets not go there.  Luckily I had this fab image and verse sent to me in an image swap amongst the DT some months ago.  This is Ethel and Coffee by Rubbernecker, coloured her with copics and promarkers then cut her out.  I tried to set a scene of a wallpapered wall behind her.  The pink dp is from Funky Fairys 'Nanna's Wallpaper', quite an apt name don't you think.  I've used some cream card for the skirting board and dado type rail between the dp and plain white card.  I found a die-cut vase in my stash so cut out a walking stick so that it sits in the vase.  I used some die-cut frames from Kanban to go around the sentiment so it kinda looks like a picure on the wall.
I hope my card raised a smile or even better a giggle.
We do hope you'll join in with our humourous theme and we can't wait to see what you come up with.
Enjoy your Sunday!!!
