CYDA Challenge #40 ~ Mother's Day

Hello everyone, oops already broken my new years resolution and it's been a month since I last posted anything on my wee blog...tut, tut.

Well after a spring like week today looks a bit disappointing really dark, damp and dreary here in East Yorkshire.  Mollie will be sulking a little later as she's off for her annual's at the vets this morning, she'll get out of the car all waggy tailed and get as far as the vet doors then will plonk herself down and refuse to move.....lol, so we have to pick her up then once inside in the reception she'll not be too bad but as soon as the vet opens his door she heads for the exit and wont budge, thank goodness she's not a big dog that we couldn't pick up, but she really is comical and it's the same routine everytime we go...lol.

So anyway it's time for a card from me at long last.  The theme over at Craft Your Days Away this fortnight was chosen by Donna and is....

Mother's Day

It's just 2 weeks away until Mother's Day, so time to get thinking about our mum's.  We are aware that some countries don't celebrate Mother's Day at the same time as us here in the UK, so we will be happy to see another celebration type related to mum's such as a birthday, but it must be related to 'Mum'

I have used a Meljen's image called 'Lazy Susan Buggies', coloured with Promarkers.  Papers are 'My Minds Eye'.

We also welcome FIVE new members to the CYDA DT after our DT call that ran over the last fortnight - Julie, Caz, Jacqui, Berit and Nat will all hopefully be joining us for our next challenge in 2 weeks time.

CYDA Challenge #29 ~ Pink, Brown & Blue

Well this is a few days late I'm afraid.  Our internet problems are still ongoing despite BT telling us it's now fixed each time which it is for a short time, but we've just had 2 days with no internet and an intermittent phone line, they say they can see the fault which is external, I think it's about time they again send out a physical engineer rather than dealing with it remotely.

Anyway, I want to say a massive thank you for all my birthday wishes, cards and gifts.  I had a fabulous party on Friday night, after nearly a year in the planning all seemed to go well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves, but boy did my legs aches on Saturday after all the dancing, but it was fun so thats the main thing.  Just waiting to see some photo's now as we forgot our camara, but luckily others took photo's.

So onto the Craft Your Days Away challenge this fortnight.....

A Mother's Day Card

Hiya All!!  Been busy so far this weekend making some Mum cards for mothers day to take into work next week.  I had an amazingly large stash of cards so decided to take some of them into work for the staff and customers to buy, with all money going to our current charity 'Sunshine House' in Hull.  I've not been at my branch for nearly a month now, but the girls have told me that all the cards have all gone, so need a complete restock when I go in next week, hence the 'Mum' cards.  I'm so chuffed that the cards have all sold there were 46 in total, raising some lovely money for the charity, hopefully the next lot will sell just as well.  So anyway here is one of the cards which I'm entering into some challenges....

Simply we want to see black and white creations, greyscale shading, skin tones and hair colouring is ok as is a bit of sparkle and bling if you wish, just keep any other colours to the bare minimum, primarily your work should be just Black & White.

Good Morning All!!  It's a bit of a wintery mix here today in Yorkshire with rain and snow, I don't think the snow is meant to come to much the rain will domineer I expect.

CYDA Challenge #5

Good Morning All!!

Oh my goodness I really have been neglecting my little old blog, still trying to get to a happy medium with f/t work and crafting, I'm sure I will get there eventually.  I'm starting to settle in at work now so hopefully things will soon come together, I'm sure this weekends golf on the TV will allow me plenty of time to get crafting.  Enjoyed my first night out with work colleagues last night, we had a lovely meal and then a few drinks and a little boogie at one of the local pubs.  Was shattered by the time I got home at 10 o'clock as we'd all gone out straight from work.

Anyway I do have a make to show you for the latest challenge over at CYDA which this time round is...

 BABIES

I nearly didn't have anything to show you as my dear little cat Felix decided he rather liked all the ribbons and bits on my my original make and just had to have it as a toy, the little so and so, it was beyond repair. But as luck would have it, I found another I had made sometime ago that wasn't finished completely on the decoration side....

So I've decorated it up a bit.  It's nothing like my original which I much preferred but it's still kind of cute and pretty.

It was made from papers by Funky Fairys (which no longer trades), I have added lace, a fancy bow and a button all from my stash.

The button in real life doesn't look quite so blue as it does in the photo.
