Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge #8

Well as I had all my christmas stuff out and I was in the mood, I've done a second xmas card. This is my first entry into Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge and I did promise my buddy Angel that I would enter this challenge this week. So anyone else out there who's thinking of starting some xmas cards this challenge is worth checking out.

The theme this week over on Fab's is "Spin this Xmas Card" which means there needs to be at least one circle on your card.

The poinsettia and circle sentiment is from Fred, She Said's 'Christmas Poinsettia Pack'. Cut the circle sentiment with circle scalloped nesties, then layered with a further two scalloped circles. The papers are flocked christmas papes from Making Memories. To finish I've added some lines of red and green gems.

As I missed one week of making an xmas card the other week this one makes up for it, so I'm now back on track.

Christmas Fred's Flowers & Another Cuttlebug Holly

These are two more cards I made before I went away.

The first is using Fred's Flowers Christmas Poinsettia Reds collection available from Fred, She Said. As well as the flower, the 'merry christmas' background and patterned paper are also from the collection. I've used a gate-fold for this card, added a gold embossed personal sentiment from Kanban above the flower and added a gold ribbon bow to the bottom. Gold outline tape runs down each side. The flower is made up with 2 sets of leaves and 2 sets of larger petals and 1 of the smaller petals. I lightly creased each leaf and petal to give lift and shape, the leaves were then slightly curled under at the tips, a gold brad was used to hold all the layers together and the flower was then attached to the background using a little silicon.

I really love this CB Holly folder. I embossed onto green card then followed the outlines with a gold metallic sakura pen. The frosted berries and gold ribbon was a rescued embellishment from a christmas pressie last year, and I think it looks pretty good against the embossed holly. The berries are actually frosted gold and red, though the picture makes them look mulit-coloured. Mounted onto gold card. The sentiment and corners are gold peel-offs.

Fred's Flowers

I've been meaning to use Fred's Flowers from Fred, She Said for ages, so I decided to use them on the two birthday cards for my step-daughters.

The backing papers are Floral Felicity Papers with matching die-cut swirls and flower. Brown organza ribbon runs down the joint between the two different papers. I printed the fred's flowers on glossy photopaper, they were yellow but I've used Chestnut Brown H2O with a water brush to darken them. Green brads hold the layers together. Made a gift tag greeting using brown card, striped paper and a printed sentiment in brown.

The pink flowers are on the same sheet as the yellow ones, so again on glossy photopaper. The background leaves and flowers are stamped onto light green card and stardust sakura pens were used to colour the detail. The fred's flowers are again attached with gold brads. Mounted onto glossy pink card and then the light green card again. The base card is pink with gold peel-off decorations. The sentiment is printed on pearlised pink paper matted onto the glossy pink and light green card.

The flowers on both cards have been creased down the middle of each petal.
