Sparkles Monthly Christmas Challenge

Can you believe it's June already??  Where is the time going, flying by it seems.

Well it's the first day of the month so that means it's time for a new montrhly challenge over at SFCC, this month it's all about...

SNOWMEN

....as chosen by Lesley.

We all love an adorabloe snowman or two in our Christmas crafts, I know I do.  You'll find lots of snowmen inspiration from the DT and here is mine....

I was running well behind on my DT stuff to get done before my holidays so I've just done a simple tag, coloured with promarkers, chalks and sakura stardust, it really does sparkle lovely but unfortunately the camara couldn't capture it.

Joanna Sheen is sponsoring this challenge with a £10 voucher for the winner to spend in her online store. We do hope you'll be able to join us for this months challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hugs

Santa's Grotto using the Media 'N' Pastimes Board

Had a play today with the Glitter Girls Media 'N' Pastimes board creating santa's grotto by embossing the potting shed. I embossed on to brown card and then added a lighter shimmery brown to the roof, window sill and top of door. Some acetate was placed behind the window panes then using some light blue material I made some curtains for the window, I decided to have them drawn across. I placed a santa and elves image behind the door. The snow effect is snow-tex (gosh it's messy stuff) and glamour dust was sprinkled over the snow whilst still wet. Then I added a few gold peel-off hinges to the door and a door knob made of a punched gold circle and a foam pad. The grotto was then mounted onto a folded black A5 card using foam pads. I applied some more snow-tex and glamour dust on the bottom of the card and slightly up the sides and added some stars and the north star with crystal stickles and white sakura pen. A decoupaged tree was added to the front, a notice on the front of the door and a greeting to the back of the door and finished with peel-off writing to the card. It's not for anyone in particular just wanted to see how it would turn out, not too sure if I like it that much maybe I'll just use it as a prototype.

Now those of you who have been here before may notice the decor of my blog has been changed, I think it looks much better, what do you think?? I'd love to know what you think. Thanks to my mate Sue for the link, and if any other bloggers fancy a facelift (thats a blog facelift) you can find the link to The Cutest Blog on the top left hand side of my blog.
