Had a fab day out and Funky Fairy Challenge & GD Call reminder!!

Hi All

No card from me yet today, there maybe one later. I've just got back from a wonderful day out with Emma where we also met up with Sue (Susie Sunshine) and her SIL Elaine. We all met up at Brigg Garden Centre in Lincolnshire where we enjoyed coffee, lunch and in mine and Emma's case some cake too, I only had a piece of cake so Emma didn't feel so bad, honest...lol. We had a good browse at the craft section there and I think we were all pretty good with our spending. We had a good laugh and chat of course in-between. It was lovely to meet Sue at long last and I hope we can all meet up again soon, it was a very enjoyable day, and thanks to Emma for driving.

"PARTY ANIMAL"

Thank you to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge ' Red, White, Blue and a Star too!!' your creations were all superb!!
This week over on Stamptacular as the title suggests we want to see an animal or animals on your projects. This week we are being sponsered by 'Stampin Up'. To be in with a chance of winning the prize you must include some sort of stamping somewhere on your project no matter how small and your creation must have been created for the Stamptacular Challenge only.

The DT have had fun creating some really fun cards to help inspire you, so please be sure to check them out. Here's mine..

The image is from Dustin Pike coloured with copics and white sakura glaze. The background has been chalked. My stamping is the wording on the banner and the balloons. DP is Funky Fairys - Cupcake Crazy. I doodled the confetti and streamers on the banner and around the edge of the card.

I do hope you'll come and join us for this weeks fun challenge, we look forward to seeing all the different animals being used. Enjoy your Sunday!!!

Stampin' For The Weekend #4

Due to my holiday and feeling poorly last week this is the first time I've been able to take part in the Stampin' For The Weekend challenges. And this week there is a great project titled "Pocket Full of..." The stampin' for the weekend team would like to see you make a wallet or pocket card. I've been meaning to send a certain friend (naming no names, as she hasn't got em yet...lol) some stamped images for a good few weeks now, so this was the perfect opportunity to get a wallet made and some images stamped.

I've used one of my old time favourite Sugar Nellie stamps, Daisy and coloured her with copics and watercolour pencils with a water brush, and a bit of blue chalk to the background. Cut image and yellow glitter card mount using Labels 2 Nesties. DP is K & Co. The flower is a mix of fabric and prima's held together with a pearl brad. The dangly is an old odd earring adding the 'made with love' heart charm with a silver jump ring. Finished with some tiny Anita's gems, then punched two holes so the wallet can be secured with some yellow cord.

Can't believe it's the weekend again already, where's the past week gone? It's quite humid here today but no sun as yet, I think it's meant to be brightening up a bit later this afternoon. It sounds like many of us could be in for a bit of a heatwave next week, not sure if thats good or bad really. Well whatever you are up to this weekend, I hope you have a good one. Thanks for visiting and any comments are much appreciated. xxx

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #37 - A Girlie, Girlie Dragon

The theme this week over on SCSC is a colour scheme - 'PINK & GREEN', this is one of my favourite colour combo's.

I recently won this stamped image in a blog candy, but unfortunately I don't have a clue as to what the make or name of it is. So if anyone could shed any light, I'd be really grateful. Coloured with copics and blender then chalked the background in green. The DP's are from Funky Fairys Cupcake Crazy and the edges have been inked in pink or green. Used my nesties in the bug for the scalloped squares and circle. Flowers are a mix of prima and papermania and secured together with flower brads. The butterfly sentiment and scalloped base card are both from Craftwork Cards. To finish I've added a few tiny Anita's gems in pink and green. I'm not too happy with the photo as it really doesn't show the true colours very well especially the cerise flowers which look more like a deep burgundy in the pic.

Thanks for looking xx

Pollycraft Challenge #18

It's my buddy Emma's challenge this time round over on Pollycraft and the theme is 'Diamond & Gems/Bling. They want to see some sparkle and glitz, ooooh I do love a bit of sparkle.

The image is one of the fab downloads from Pollycraft, Cherry Kisses - Shopping which I recieved free with the newsletter when they were released. Coloured her using copics and promarkers then added a touch of sakura stardust to some of the detail. The papers are Funky Fairys from the new Cupcake Crazy Kit. I've also used some rainbow effect glitter card behind the image and papers, not sure where I got it from. Added a heart gem to one of her bags and some tiny Anita's gems to the corners of the card and image. Wording was done on the PC. Below is an angled close-up to try and show a bit more of the sparkle, because it really does sparkle.

Well it's a glorious day today and warming up very nicely, in fact I'm sitting in the garden now with my lappy and a latte writing this up. Hope you are all enjoying some nice weather too. Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and all comments are much appreciated. xxx

Sketch Saturday # 56

Finally got round to doing a challenge card for fun earlier this evening. I opted for the wonderful sketch over on Sketch Saturday for this one.

I recieved this gorgeous WOJ image from a recent swap, I've coloured with copics, promarkers and blender. The background has been chalked and inked on the edges. All the dp's are K&Co Classics. The fancy panel is a paper doily and the sentiment is from craftwork cards, which I've trimmed down then inked the edges. Then finally used some green flat backed pearls along the top. Below is the sketch to follow.

Now I'm going to sit until bedtime and catch up with the rest of my blog hopping, then hopefully I'll finally be up to date. Enjoy the rest of your evening xx

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #12

Thank you to everyone for taking part in last weeks 'Fabulous Fathers' challenge all such wonderful creations.

This weeks challenge over on Stamptacular is....

"RED, WHITE, BLUE AND A STAR TOO"

This weeks challenge is being sponsered by our very own Donna (Bearly Mine Designs). The DT and June's guest designer Gry-Heidi have some spectacular inspiration for you over on the challenge blog and here's mine.

The image is a fab digi-stamp from Pollycraft Designs 'Cherry Kisses - Chillin', coloured her with copics and promarkers. Mounted her onto a cut out white star and went around the edges with a red marker. The dp is from a free Funky Fairys download called 'Basic Stars'. The sentiments have been stamped and hand cut the jaggedy edges then inked with a red marker. Finished off with some red gems in two of the spare corners.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and of course hope all the dad's are enjoying their day today too, Happy Father's Day xx

Encaustic Card

I finally feel up to some crafting and urgently needed to get a Father's Day card done for my step-dad so I could get it in the post. I have been so itching to start crafting again my mojo seems to be fully charged after the holiday even if I'm not...lol. For this card I decided it was time to get out my iron and waxes and do something a bit different.

My step-dad is scottish so I thought the tartan backgrounds (from Kanban) were a nice touch and worked well with the encaustic image I'd created. I've cut the image out with Labels 2 nesties and also cut a frame with them using black cardstock. The sentiment was done on the PC.

Our holiday and some pics

*********** LONG POST WARNING ***********
Thank you to everyone for your welcome back messages and get well wishes. I'm feeling a little more better today and managed to eat a little today, after nothing for 2 days. I've managed to download all the holiday pics so I can now share a selection with you.

Kingslake - This is was our holiday cottage, it was nice and cosy and we even had our own little garden area with a BBQ.

The wildlife was very friendly.

The fishing was very good, there were 7 lakes to choose from all set in natural surroundings and so peaceful.

We had some great days out too.....

BUDE

THE EDEN PROJECT

TORQUAY

ILFRACOMBE

MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, BUT A GREAT VIEW!!

MINEHEAD

The weather was fantastic with only one wet day at the start of the second week, so certainly couldn't complain. Devon really is a beautiful place we did consider moving there before we bought our current house. I was a bit disappointed with Torquay as I remember our family holiday there nearly 30 years ago, but it has become too built up and commercial now. My favourite days out were The Eden Project (Cornwall) and Ilfracombe. It was great going back to the Eden Project after first visiting it the year it opened, the landscape looked so bare the first time but now it is all well established and the Biorms were amazing. Ilfracombe was so pretty and though a popular coastal holiday resort it isn't over commercialised.

Well thats a bit about our holiday and I hope you enjoyed the piccies.

I plan to catch up with blog hopping and emails over the weekend, so please bear with me.
