Pollycraft Monday Challenge #25

There's a fab new challenge over on Pollycraft starting today with lots of challenge ideas from the DT thrown into one.

So the challenge is "Five *S* Words...

SNOWFLAKES
SPARKLE

We would like you to use at least TWO of the above *S* words on your creation, but if you can use all five that would be fab, and as a bonus Paula has very kindly said....

"There will be a bonus FREE single image download of your choice to anyone who manages to use all 5!!"

I have done a CD tag for a swap using two of the *S* words - Snowflakes & Sparkle.

We do hope you'll be able to join in with the challenge.  I've got to pop in to work for a few hours, so catch you all later.

Birthday Candy

***CANDY IS NOW CLOSED***

To celebrate my upcoming birthday I'm doing a surprise Candy.  It wasn't going to be a surprise, but as I'm awaiting a few items and because I'm going to the Harrogate Show on Sunday, where I'll probably pick up a few more goodies I thought it would be fun to do a surprise candy, so you wont know what the candy is until the candy closes.
All you need to do to enter is leave a comment here, but there's a catch I want you to tell me what was one of your best ever birthday surprises be it a present, treat or whatever, and of course it would be fab if you want to spread the word about my surprise candy.
And if anyone happens to share the same birthday as me 17th September then please say so and you will get a second entry into the candy, please I'm trusting you all to be honest.
The candy closes on the 20th September at 11:00 p.m. (GMT), I will then reveal the candy and the winner on the 21st September.
Please only one entry, all duplicates will be deleted.  I will post worldwide and don't worry if you don't have a blog just make sure you leave an email so I can contact you.
Good Luck Everyone!!!

Funky Fairys Challenge #34

Good Morning All
We should be heading off about now to drop Mollie off at the kennels then a quick nip back to pack up the car and then we are off on our short break.

Thank you to everyone who took part in last weeks FF challenge, all such wonderful creations.
This week on Funky Fairy Challenges the DT have gone a bit green and we've all done a little bit for the planet, so we hope you'll join us in our....

RECYCLE CHALLENGE

We would like to see at least ONE recycled element on your project and as always to be in with a chance of winning a Funky Fairys download you must use at least ONE funky fairys product.

The DT have come up with some wonderful creations using recycled items to help inspire you and here's mine.

My recycled items are the purple twine, which I recyled from a bunch of flowers I got a few weeks back and the other item is the silver heart key-ring from an xmas cracker, I decorated the tag on it with some prima flowers and a gem in the centre.  When the card is finished with the keyring can easily be removed so it can be used again as a keyring.

We do hope you'll join us for this weeks earth friendly challenge.

Lucky old me is going away for a few days from tomorrow for my birthday.  We are off to Tewksbury to stay in a lovely log cabin for 4 nights.  I have extended my birthday candy for a few extra days for when I get back.  Hopefully I'll be able to get online using the mobile dongle whilst away, but just in case I thought it was best to extend the candy closing date.  There are a couple of scheduled posts over the few days I'm away.

Harrogate

Well Crafty Emma and myself had a fab time at Harrogate yesterday, even managed to squeeze in a bit of cake, which we have to do of course..lol.  Sunday semed a good day to go, as it was busy but not over busy where you struggled to get in to look at anything, of course there's the odd stalls that are pretty popular and they were a bit of a hustle and bustle to get into but we fought our way through.  We were both pretty good too with our spending, I could have spent tons more mind, but I've saved some of my money for other birthday treats, maybe a few clothes, which I hardly seem to buy much of lately.
Anyway we had a fun day, Emma is such wonderful company and here is a pic of the goodies I bought, minus the few bits I bought for my candy draw of course...hehehe.

Enjoy your Monday and I should have a card or two for you later, well I got to start using my new goodies haven't I!!

Get Sketchy Challenge #5

Hello Everyone!!
Hope you have all had a lovely Saturday, the weather has been glorious here again, not over warm but very pleasant and not a cloud in the sky.
There's another wonderful sketch to follow this week over on Get Sketchy.  The sketch to follow was landscape but I've flipped it to portrait for my card.

The image is from the wonderful Halloween set available over on Doodle Palace, you also get his fab halloween poem and the halloween sentiment in the set.  Coloured image with copics and watercolour pencils. The orange dp is from an upcoming new set from Funky Fairys 'Fancy Flourishes'.  Black card is from my crafting stash.  I printed the sentiment onto some of the dp.  Added orange gems to the corners of the black panels.  Below is a close up of the fun halloween poem.

Another glorious start here today, so we are going to take advantage of this good weather and go off for a drive up to the north Yorkshire moores in a little while.  But first I wanted to show you a card made with Paula's fab Friday freebie.  Meet Halloween Kitty....

I'm also entering this card into this weeks Crafty Creations challenge which this week has a theme of embossing.
Coloured image with copics and blender.  Papers are all Basic Grey. I've embossed one of the papers using my bug and the Divine Swirls embossing folder, dabbed a green ink pad over the embossing to give it a bit of lift.  The leaves and flowers are from my stash then added card candy to three corners and the centre of the flower.  Hubble Bubble wording was hand written.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

It's that time of week again for a new Stamptacular Sunday Challenge.  Thank you to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge "Scallop Mania" all such wonderful creations using scallops.
This week we wanted to add a little humour for our challenge theme....
"OFF THE WALL....SLAP YOUR KNEE FUNNY"
We would like to see your cards showing a little humour be it the stamped image and/or the sentiment or verse.  The DT can't wait to have a giggle seeing your creations.  But first you can have a giggle yourself by taking a look at all the DT cards and creations.  Here's mine..
Now this was a bit of a toughy for me, I'm usually the last to get a joke, sometimes I just plain well can't understand them, and as for remembering a joke well lets not go there.  Luckily I had this fab image and verse sent to me in an image swap amongst the DT some months ago.  This is Ethel and Coffee by Rubbernecker, coloured her with copics and promarkers then cut her out.  I tried to set a scene of a wallpapered wall behind her.  The pink dp is from Funky Fairys 'Nanna's Wallpaper', quite an apt name don't you think.  I've used some cream card for the skirting board and dado type rail between the dp and plain white card.  I found a die-cut vase in my stash so cut out a walking stick so that it sits in the vase.  I used some die-cut frames from Kanban to go around the sentiment so it kinda looks like a picure on the wall.
I hope my card raised a smile or even better a giggle.
We do hope you'll join in with our humourous theme and we can't wait to see what you come up with.
Enjoy your Sunday!!!

Three challenges in 1

What a wet blustery day we have had today, the heating is on as it's so nippy out, even wore my boots with leggings today, time to put the summer clothes away I think.
Only popped to the shops today as feeling a little under the weather with a sore throat, it's been brewing for a few days with achy limbs, limbs feel ok today it's just my throat and feeling quite tired but I've done a little crafting DT stuff mainly but I did a card for three challenges too.

I've used one of the lovely Twiddly Wings images from Pollycraft, coloured with copics, promarkers and shimmer chalks.  Papers are Funky Fairys - Simply Brushed (orange) and Softly Shabby (pink).  The teal card is from my stash.  Flowers are orange prima's with punched flowers from the teal coloured card.  I'm really not happy with this picture as the colours are showing all wrong, but I gave up in the end trying to get a good pic.
As I mentioned earlier this card fits three challenges:-
Stampin for the Weekend - Colour theme, Orange, Teal & Pink.
Sketch Saturday - Followed the wonderful sketch.
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Flights of Fancy (winged things).
Enjoy your evening and weekend everyone whatever your plans.

You'll also find over there that Paula has a mega blog candy going on where you could actually win the full set of Christmas Cherry Kisses clear stamps, but there is also FOUR more candies to be won so don't miss out, you have until the 14th September.

Funky Fairys Challenges and Blog Hop

***BLOG HOP & CANDY NOW CLOSED***

Welcome to the 1st Funky Fairy's Blog Hop to celebrate the merging of the Shop & Challenge Design Teams. We thought that we had to mark this occasion & celebrate with a "Funky Fairy" party . . . or a blog hop in this instance!

Now the theme this week over on the Challenge Blog is "Case It". This simply means that we have been looking at each others fab projects and choosing one to "CASE" (case is an acronym for Copy And Share Everything) so you create a project using someone else's work as your inspiration but do not need to copy it exactly. Well as you can imagine all the DT members got involved & have pulled "a blinder" this week and if you follow the blog hop you will see all their brilliant projects. Please do leave a comment on every blog you visit to be eligible for the fab prize being offered by Funky Fairy's Papercrafts (via the Inspiration Blog) . . . we will check you know!

Here is my project . . . .

Now I drew inspiration for this mosaic box by CASING a wonderful project by Lorraine for the 'Dare To Be Sqaure' challenge back in April.  Here is a picture of Lorraine's inspiring project.

For my box I used Funky Fairys 'Simply Brushed' papers for the mosaic squares. The box was a plain wooden craft box from The Range.  I painted the box lid with grey acrylic paint and the box base with purple and green twinkling H2O's then rubbed down with some sandpaper.

Now you have just left Jilly's blog & already got their letter but please don't forget to collect my letter which is "N". At this point you should have 8 letters. The next blog you need to pop over & visit is Ginny's Blog. If you have not collected all the previous letters, please pop back to the beginning of our blog hop over on the Inspiration Blog.
****CANDY ALERT****
I'm offering one lucky winner a little bit of candy to be eligble for my candy draw you must have taken part in the Blog Hop, so when you leave a comment please say your on the "Funky Blog Hop".  The candy will close at 9 a.m. (GMT) on Friday 4th September.  A winner will be drawn randomly and announced on the new Funky Fairy challenge and on here next Wednesday 9th September.  Now what is the candy you are wondering, well the lucky winner will recieve the above mosaic box which I made for this weeks challenge with some surprises inside.
We do hope you are enjoying the Funky Fairys Blog Hop and it would be wonderful if you took part in our CASE It challenge too, where this week the challenge is also being sponsered by Simon Says Stamp
Enjoy your day!!!

Some Blog Awards

I have some blog awards that have been very kindly awarded to me over the past couple of weeks.
This was awarded to me by the lovely Moni.

This circle of friends award was given to me by the wonderful Lisa.

And this gorgeous 'Inspiring' award was awarded to me from the lovely Poppy.
Thank you ladies for these wonderful awards they are much appreciated.
Forgive me but I'm not going to pass these on to individuals as I know many have these awards, and I'm struggling to get the time to actually blog hop at the moment.  However, I am awarding these awards to all my wonderful friends and visitors who take the time to visit my blog and leave such wonderful comments, especially when I'm being such a bod blogger myself lately.  I am working my way around honestly!!
So please accept these with my thanks and love.
