A Touch of Spring

Good morning all, hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Just thought I'd pop a card on for you before I get off to work.  With all this snowy weather we keep having, it's nice to see a bit of spring, even if it is on card and paper...lol.

I have another Pollycraft sneak peek for you.....

This lovely fits to 4 challenges....

Your Next Stamp - Spring Colours

Magical Crafts Challenge #9

Good Morning All

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the last challenge 'For The Kids', so many wonderful projects.

For challenge 9 over on Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge the theme is...

'SOMETHING FOR MUM'

Mother's day is fast approaching here in the UK, but we also understand that for some of you Mother's day is later in the year, so we would like to see projects with 'MUM' in mind, be it for Mother's day, birthday etc..
Remember we like to see all crafts over on Magical, so any crafting technique, be it knitting, woodwork, pottery, painting, papercrafts.....absolutely anything goes as long as you stick to the theme.

This week we are being sponsored by Sew Many Cards, and the winner will win 5 digi images of their choice from the SMC Store.

The DT were able to work with some SMC images and as always they have come up trumps with some inspiration for you, so be sure to check them out over on the challenge blog.  Here's mine.....

I've made this cute word book with my mum in mind.  Now my MIL being in her 80's is more the elegant flowery type of person and my mum, well I think she loves everything I do, but my dilemma was I know my mum is gonna be peeking....lol, Yes Mum, I know your looking!!!  So this is for me and I will be adding little pics and things about my mum to the pages and make it into a little keepsake for me.
RECIPE

Digi Image - Sew Many Cards

Papers - K & Co

Colouring Medium -Copics

Ribbon from stash
Flowers punched from papers using Woodware Flower Punches

We do hope you'll be able to join us for our latest challenge, we look forward to seeing your creations.

********************

Well I awoke this morning at 7:30 thanks to Mollie Mops and her barking at the poor paperboy.  When looking out of the window this is the scene I saw...

Yep...the snow is back!!  They forcasted that a light dusting of snow was likely, well I think this is a tad more than a light dusting...lol.  And it's still going strong now.  But as you'll see below, Mollie Mops just loves it...

Don't think we'll be going far today!!
Enjoy your Sunday and if you have the snow enjoy it, but please be careful if you need to go out in it.

My first completed Circle Journal

Over on the Magical Crafts Forum you'll find lots of swaps going on and the Circle Journal is one of them.
This was started back in September last year it involves, you starting your journal, then sending on to another person to complete a double page, then they post it on to someone else to complete a double page and so on until the final finished journal is returned back to you.  I am not a scrapbooker, so this was a challenge for me, not only starting my own but also doing a double page in other peoples who were in the circle.  But we got there in the end and my little journal is now back with me.  I've not signed up to take part in the second circle, but I think I will definately take part again when I can.  So here's my completed Circle Journal, thank you to two very talented friends Angel and Jackie for their pages.....and the journal subject was my little furbaby Mollie...

This is something I really will treasure and there is room for me to add more pages in the future.
**********
Sorry I've not been about with any new posts for a few days, I've been working and have also come down with a cold, which I thought was going to be a right stinker of one last night as I felt really rotten, but thankfully today I feel more human and only have a little niggling sore throat, sniffles and a bit sneezy.  Hopefully that's as worse as it's gonna get.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and keeping warm as that cold air here still lingers on with the constant threat of snow.  Roll on spring I say.

Thanks for stopping by.

1 Card for no challenges...lol Oh yes there is ONE

Happy Velentine's Day to each and everyone of you, hope you are all enjoying a day with your loved ones.

It's taken me two days to get this card done and finished, we had a nightmare with Mollie late yesterday involving a bone and a mad dash in the evening to the emergency vetinary hospital, thankfully all ok now hopefully, the problem appeared to of righted itself due to my driving and the bumpy roads according to the vet, I 'm hoping it was more to do with the pot holes in the roads than my driving...lol.  Anyway I've never been keen on her having bones and the one she had yesterday was the last she'll ever have.

So on to the card........

Now with all the mayhem I seemed to totally lose the plot with this one, I was originally following the sketch over on Challenge Up Your Life, which I have done, but totally forgot about the colour combo to go with it which is green and yellow...DOH!!  Plenty of green in it but no yellow...lol.  Gone through my challenge list and can't seem to find any other challenges this'll fit into.  So if anyone does know of a challenge it'll slip into nicely please let me know.

RECIPE
Image - Sarah Kay

Papers - K & Co and Crafts Too

Colouring Mediums - Watercolour Pencils and Promarkers just for the skin

Embellishments - Lace, Pearls and Flowers all from stash

Sentiment is stamped (freebie stamp from a crafty mag back from last year)

*************
Thanks to the lovely Moni who emailed me about a couple of challenges my card should fit.  One of them I've already entered but the other I think will do nicely....

Stamp Something - Something Cute

Well I think she's a cutie, thank you Moni xx

Enjoy the rest of your day and thank you for stopping by.

Altered Notebook and Tags

Over on the Magical Crafts Forum, there are lots of swaps going on and this month I have joined the Notebook swap and Tag swap.

I've altered a plain 6 x 4 notebook using some scrap material I found in my stash and added some sequin and silver braiding along one edge. The flower was two pieces cut out from the material secured with a fancy brad and spacer, then used some silver chain for attaching 3 charms to.  Nearly didn't want to give this away...lol.  But I'm looking forward to recieving a notebook back from the swap, which I'm sure will be just as gorgeous.

There are six of us taking part in the tag swap this month, and they will be made into a tag info book.  On the other side of these tags is a really tiny pic of me...lol, my address and a few bits of info about me.  In the swap I will recieve a tag from each participant with their address and some info about them, all put together with a book ring, a fab idea for a fancy little address book.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well what a wet dreary day it is here, not quite as cold as it has been of late mind.  I'm off on a little trip out with my SIL Mel today across the Humber into Lincolnshire to visit The Hobby House.  I always buy from them at the shows not realising until fairly recently that their shop was only 43 miles away from me just outside Grimsby, so I'm really looking forward to visiting the shop, looking at their site yesterday there are so many things I'd like to buy, but I am going to try and be very good and only get what I really want to go for which is some charms and spacers, they have a fab selection.  I really must be good!!...lol.

Well enjoy your day everyone and thanks for stopping by.
